Tom graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BSc Hons Chemical Engineering & Chemistry. From there he spent his time productively working in varying roles in the food & drink sector, gaining skills in; QA/QC, supply chain management, compliance & regulatory affairs, production engineering and project management (including lean management principles). He also has a strong background in flavours & fragrance for the FMCG markets as well as process optimisation, including developing manufacturing best practice for sustainability and environmental impact goals.

Tom has helped a number of SMEs as a consultant, using the skills above, as well as creating a number of start-ups of his own. He currently works at Reaseheath College as a (CREST) Research Manager and is actively involved in projects relating to the agritech, bioeconomy, sustainability, food & environment sectors as part of the Projects, Research & Innovation (PRI) department

Janice joined CREST in July 2020 after a 30 year career in the training and enterprise sector; fostering enterprise in local communities and tailoring national learning and skills programmes to suit the needs of local businesses.

Janice’s role at CREST is to work with SMEs, in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, to identify and exploit collaborative research opportunities which can deliver environmental and business benefits.
