28th March 2019: Shrewsbury Water Forum presents Groundwater Flooding

The newly formed Shrewsbury Water Forum is an informal professional business networking group aimed at promoting the water science sector, with links to CREST at University Centre Shrewsbury.

The first evening event will include technical talks from hydrogeologists on the problem of groundwater flooding. It is also an opportunity to network with others working in groundwater and surface water related fields. The subjects covered will be:

  • Stephen Buss (Independent hydrogeologist): “Groundwater and flooding at Fairbourne, on the West Coast of Wales”

  • Jonathan Haycox (Geosmart): “National groundwater flood forecasting system”

  • Clare Cook (Wood): “Groundwater flooding in North Lincolnshire”
