A new grant scheme for Shropshire SMEs has just been launched – The Low Carbon Opportunities Programme (LOCOP). This is managed by Worcestershire County Council in partnership with Shropshire Council and CREST, and funded by the European Regional Development Programme.
Up to £50,000 funding available for innovation of low carbon products and services
The Low Carbon Opportunities Programme is working in partnership to provide REVENUE and CAPITAL support to help small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) in Shropshire (unlike normal CREST support, this funding does not cover Telford & Wrekin).
The funds will help SME’s who are developing low carbon goods and services, seeking to implement ideas and commercialise products that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Capital and revenue grants of up to £50,000 (at 40% intervention) are available. Smaller grants can be applied for. Examples of activities funded:
- Development costs
- Commercialisation & implementation costs
- Market research
- Prototype, demonstration and product testing
- Manufacturing scale-up
